Hoover Alabama Offers Luxury Living Opportunities

Alabama has much to offer in the way of luxury homes within private and gated communities. Hoover is the biggest suburb of Birmingham in north central Alabama. The city is located in Jefferson and Shelby Counties with a population of nearly 73,000. By all estimations, the Hoover area is expected to continue to experience growth over the next decade.

Located among the beautiful Appalachian Mountains foothills, Hoover has become the home of many planned communities. The communities in the Hoover area offer amenities like golf courses, tennis and fitness facilities.

The Hoover area has a median home price of about $248,000 as of October 2009. This is up from the 2000 median home price of $176,400, but down from the $363,800 median home price before the recent recession. Most real estate experts feel that is downturn is only temporary and that prices will rebound over the next few years.

One of Hoover’s newest private community and resort is the Renaissance Ross Bridge Golf Resort & Spa. The homes available for sale in the community are in line with the median home price of the area. Homes in the area are priced from $240,000 to over $1,000,000 for luxury homes. Options like town homes and condos offer more affordable living options and priced from 169,900 to $260,000.

Ross Bridge is known world wide as a premier resort destination. The resort offers a 259 room luxurious hotel and a 12,000 sq ft spa center. Other amenities include a championship golf course, outdoor pool and meeting center, and tennis courts.

The golf course at Ross Bridge has an 8,191 yard golf course that is the home of the Regions Charity Classic on the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail. The New York Times said the course was “some of the best public golf on Earth.” The Hoover Birmingham area offers many entertainment, dining, shopping, and cultural activities.

Birmingham is also home to the world famous Talladega Superspeedway, the International Motor Sports Hall of Fame, Birmingham Museum of Art, the Tannehill Ironworks Historical State Park, and the Alabama Adventure theme park.
