Golf is a very dignified game of rules, manners and etiquette, and it’s quite important to know the basics of golfing etiquette before you play golf for the first time.
Whether you are playing alone, in a twosome or a foursome, the first rule of golfing etiquette is that you must always wait your turn. You must stay aware of the group on the next hole and wait until they are well ahead of you before you hit your ball.
Golfing etiquette also means that it is never right to “hurry” the group in front of you. If you are playing with others, wait your turn to hit the ball and never play at the same time as someone else.
While you are waiting for your turn to play, go to your ball and determine what golf club you will need to use and how you are going to hit the golf ball with it. This is called “ready golf” and keeps the game moving along. Don’t rush anybody, just be ready for your turn.
Another nice piece of golfing etiquette, especially for the novice is ‘playing through’. For example, if your team is holding up the players behind you, say because you are consistently over par, let them play through. You would simply wave them through, or if they are near enough, ask them if they would like to play through. You will never make an enemy by doing this!
When someone is making a shot, you should be behind them and you shouldn’t make a sound! It is so distracting to be ready to tee off and just as you pull back, someone decides to jingle coins in their pocket or noisily unwrap a sweet.
Replacing divots. Let’s say you are on the fairway and you strike the ball a bit thick and a clump of earth and grass goes flying, golfing etiquette says that you ought to repair the hole. On some courses you just put the turf back and step on it to keep it down, but on most courses, there is a sand/seed mixture on the course to put into the divot. Also, if your ball makes a deep impression when it lands on the green, you should use your divot tool to repair it.
As soon as you have completed a hole, replace the flag and leave the green as quickly as possible so that the next players can play that hole. Add up your score and write it on the scorecard when you get back to your trolley.
For sure, there is much more to golfing etiquette than this, but these basic rules of golfing etiquette will enable you to get around the course without upsetting anyone. If we all uphold golfing etiquette we will keep the game nice and friendly, or not?

There are so many companies making golf clubs currently. Every company have so many models which makes for many combination. If you are a golfer, are you able to pick out the right golf clubs for yourself?
Companies have their own research department and come out with different technologies every year. Scroll more to read about some of the more popular manufacturers.
Cobra Golf may not be the most popular manufacturer out there but it makes a great driver called the Cobra S9-1. Having a street price of $300, it’s not the most expensive driver but it delivers real results. In fact, this driver won the Hot List 2009 gold award for drivers under $300.
Adams Golf sponsors Tom Watson and is known with its amazing hybrid technology. The Adams Speedline though is its great new driver that has captured the hearts of many, including the Hot List 2009 as it won gold. The rounded sole takes getting used to because it might rock back and forth at address off the tee but once you get used to it, expect to hit it looooong.
Callaway Golf almost stands for forgiveness. They also pioneered the uniflex shaft used in its irons. The Callaway FT-IQ is its latest square shaped driver. If you can get pass the sound that it makes (and the shape), you will bomb it. The driver is amazingly straight even though your golf buddies might make fun of you for cheating.
Nike Golf catapulted into the golf scene with the endorsement of Tiger Woods. I’m sure they are hard at work and Tiger must love being able to test all the different options and help them in designing the golf clubs to golf balls.
Lynx mainly sells through Golfsmith and it’s not a bad brand. I’m not too familiar with them though so your mileage may vary. However, it will probably be pretty consistent if you couple it with a good shaft.
Adams fairway woods are more like hybrids than true fairway woods. If I were you, I’d stick with the major brands because your game may suffer. They do have some unique irons sets that you could be interested though.
What PGA pros like to play says a lot about how good the golf clubs are. golfbag.com/whats-in-the-bag-steve-stricker/">Steve Stricker bag shows you what are in their golf bags at all times.

As the golf game evolves, so do golf club manufacturers. These days, there are so many different companies making clubs and they all make many different models. How are people supposed to find the right ones?
Every company has their own technology which is different than others. Read more to find out about the popular club manufacturers.
Cobra Golf’s latest high end driver is the L5V with a street price of $400. It uses a carbon composite and have adjustments to change the angle of the face by 1 degree if desired.

The rounded sole takes getting used to because it might rock back and forth at address off the tee but once you get used to it, expect to hit it looooong.
Callaway Golf is really pushing the envelope with its high end drivers (all its 2009 models are over $350 a piece). They made two drivers. One with a more traditional shape (FT-9) and one a square shape (FT-IQ). Both are amazingly long and Phil is already using the FT-9. He’s not trying crazy things like two drivers though anymore but who knows as he might use the drivers to chip.
When the world’s most dominant player plays those clubs, who doesn’t want to own them? Tiger Woods plays Nike’s equipment, and so should you. Tiger personally designed some of the club and balls characteristics for use.
Lynx is a smaller component player and this choice will make perfect sense if price is a concern. However, coupled with a great shaft, it will still perform.
Adams Golf fairway woods? Read what I have to say about Cobra’s lineup. No idea what they make.
golfbag.com/whats-in-the-bag-ernie-els/">PGA Tour pro Luke Donald’s bag indicate what’s new and good in golf technology. What’s in the Golf Bag will tell you exactly what pros play with.

Adams may be the pioneer in hybrids but their marketing is totally taken over by the other major brands. I have no idea what fairway woods they make so I naturally think they aren’t that great.

Nike golf shoes are one of the pieces of apparel you can use to raise the quality of your game. If you have only played golf in casual footwear so far, or if you’re just looking for a way to improve your general game, buying a good pair of golf shoes can make a huge difference. Just like in other sports, the shoes you have on can directly affect your game.
Since you have to develop a smooth swing and be able to follow through on that swing in golf, all without losing any control of the strength in your swing, your golf shoes can assist or spoil your game for you. Nike golf shoes are designed to help you balance, gripping the turf as much as needed and allowing you to put full power and control behind each and every stroke.
As these golf shoes have special compartments in the heels, every step is easier and lighter to make. They offer the level of support your feet, legs and knees require in order to play golf very comfortably for longer periods of time.
Since golf usually involves lots of walking, Nike golf shoes have been made as a blend of walking shoe and golf shoe. They cushion the joints of your legs and knees against impact with each step you take, allowing you to concentrate your strength and effort on your game of golf, rather than on how you are going to get to the next hole or to wherever your ball landed.
When you decide to buy Nike golf shoes, there are several things that you ought to keep in mind. The first thing you need to consider is your level of skill. Golf, like many other sports, has equipment that can be used by amateurs or advanced professionals alike, but it is better to differentiate.
In many cases, beginners pick Nike golf shoes suited for professionals, but never end up getting the full potential of the shoe, as they are not certain how they can best be used.
While professionals definitely do get fantastic use out of these Nike golf shoes, it is often better for amateurs to purchase entry level Nike golf shoes which would better suit their needs. The increase in power afforded to your stroke would often be wasted on those who are amateurs, as they do not yet have the requisite skill to control the stroke as they need to.
So, it is best to purchase the Nike golf shoes that match your level of skill, since these shoes will have the comfort and functionality you require. You can purchase Nike golf shoes from a number of sources. For those who want cheaper shoes yet still require the quality of the professional shoes, you could purchase last season’s shoes from Nike outlet centers.
If you want only top of the line golf shoes, you can buy from online Nike stockists or through a variety of online retail vendors (see below).

I picked up one of those ‘Golfing for Women’ type magazines the other day and got to asking myself where these women actually live, who buy the golf apparel shown in women’s golf magazines? I have never seen women, not even the pros, dressed in such expensive and flamboyant clothing.
It’s easy to spend lots of money kitting yourself out for golf. What with hats, sunglasses, gloves, shirts, shorts, socks, windbreakers and shoes, the costs add up very quickly, even if you do your shopping at the sales. Then add in the cost of clubs, balls, bag, cart and fees and you have to play quite often to keep the “CPU” (cost per use) down to an acceptable level.
One half-page glossy advert showed a beautiful young ‘golfing lady’ in really tiny hot-pants (like that’s allowed on golfing greens!) that cost nearly $300, a golf shirt at almost $600, a jacket by Ralph Lauren at almost $200 and two-toned Utuser shoes costing $400 plus.
That totals just about $1,500! I know that it would be impossible for me to get the CPU on that outfit down to anywhere near an acceptable limit in my entire golfing life! Please don’t get me wrong – I do love clothes and I do really, really love shoes, but I could never afford, nor even want, golf shoes or pants that cost as much as most people’s weekly wages.
OK, you need comfortable golf shoes that don’t look like something your grandmother would have worn, but you can easily find less expensive and still fashionable shoes.
I have bought a couple of very stylish golfing outfits, even though none of them are famous brand names. If I were to add up the cost of all of those articles of clothing, it would not come to the cost of a Tse golf shirt. Personally, I would rather have several stylish outfits than one that is priced way too much.
If I were to wear a $1,500 outfit to play golf, I would simply be too worried about getting it dirty or sweating in it to play a decent round.
